I. Organization:

T.J. Cross Engineers, Inc. was formed in December 1990 when Jim Ross and Tim Couch purchased the Bakersfield office of YEI Engineers. Prior to the purchase, Messrs Ross and Couch were Directors and Owners in YEI and had managed the YEI office and associated projects in the Bakersfield area since 1984.

T.J. Cross Engineers, Inc. (T.J. Cross) is now a closely-held California Corporation owned by Lisa Wong, Stuart Heisler, Tim Couch, Kent Halley, and Chuck Soderstrom.  Since procuring a 51% ownership interest in the Corporation in 1995, Ms. Wong remains active in the day-to-day operation as both President and consulting engineer. With the firm’s staff size at approximately 145 people, all technical services and office administration are performed by T.J.  Cross staff personnel.

II. Resources:

T.J. Cross Engineers, Inc. is headquartered in approximately 22,000 sq. ft. at 200 New Stine Road in Bakersfield, California (USA).  The firm also has an office in Ventura, CA at 5450 Telegraph Road. T.J. Cross has evolved into a multi-discipline mechanical, civil, chemical/ process, structural, electrical/ instrumentation, AutoCAD® and CADWorx® 2D and 3D design, energy management, chemicals/ corrosion control, and statistical process improvement (Six Sigma/Lean Enterprise) consulting engineering firm.  Over 90% of the staff is technical, with the balance responsible for all administrative and sales activities.

T.J. Cross prides itself on keeping office equipment commensurate with current technology standards.  As such, our office has a full complement of high speed personal computers, third party simulation software such as HYSIM®, CAESAR®, PCStable®, @Risk®, and ETAP®, high-speed printers, plotters, copiers, scanners, and similar equipment vital to a successful engineering, design, and professional consulting services company.

III. Professional Experience:

The professional staff at T.J. Cross has a wide variety of experience in heavy industry with an emphasis on petroleum-related fields and power generation. Most of our employees began their careers at operating companies and, therefore, are able to provide diverse, workable and cost-effective solutions to our operating clients. Our combined career experience at operating companies totals over 300 years with an additional 1000 years of combined experience at consulting firms.

 We have provided services to include project management, cost estimates, scheduling, material take-offs, studies, assessments through analytical methods/statistical process control, field investigation, design development, specifications, construction drawings, construction support, construction management, land surveying, start-up, operating manuals, and data books, to name some. These services have been provided for new plants as well as the rehabilitation, renovation, upgrade, repair, and expansion of existing facilities and operations.
